Hydro-Arch is a general engineering contractor who specializes in flood control structures including arch culverts, bridges, and channels. Although we construct an array of flood control structures, we specialize in the turnkey design and construction of cast-in-place arch culverts. Since 1990 we have built over 95 miles of Hydro-Arch systems throughout the Western United States. The Hydro-Arch system is not just a product; it’s a team of professionals. COMPANY HISTORY

Wolf Michelson, the founder of Hydro-Arch, was an integral part in the rise of the shotcrete industry in the 1970’s. As a contractor, Michelson built culverts and underground structures for entrepreneurs involved in designing these innovative structures and pushed the boundaries of concrete construction. When it became apparent that a market existed for cost effective arched culverts, Michelson took some of the best ideas available and by 1988 he was building arched culverts exclusively. He partnered with his wife Ingrid Michelson and together they presented the Western United States with a new option for flood control and underground construction.

In 2019 Michelson passed the baton as Hydro Arch gained a new owner and President, Kevin Elder. Elders experience in construction and his dedication to growing businesses with integrity and synergistic relationships that cross industry lines, is the momentum needed to continue to set Hydro Arch apart. As Chief Operating Officer, Mike Michelson is continuing to lead Hydro Arch with the experience, knowledge and the personal relationship component that brought such success to the family owned company for years . The next generation of Hydro Arch is claiming this niche market on proven design, integrity and a revitalized enthusiasm for the Hydro Arch system.
