Less Concrete & Steel

    • Building a reinforced concrete arch is a more efficient use of material than the standard beam design found in reinforced concrete box culverts.
    • Changing the shape of a structure from a beam to an arch puts the concrete in compression. This method allows us to do more while using less concrete & reinforcing steel. A Hydro-Arch solution may reduce the materials needed by as much as 20 – 30%.

Less Forming

    • The roots of Hydro-Arch originate from the shotcrete and gunite industry of the late 70’s and 80’s in Southern California. With over 30 years of experience, we have developed techniques that eliminate the need for double-sided forming and reduce traditional forming costs by 50%.

Reusable Forms

    • From the very beginning, the Hydro-Arch philosophy has been based on the use of large reusable forms. This approach allows us to reuse forms over and over again, eliminating the need to construct a new form for every project and as a result, reducing costs. By maintaining a large inventory, we are able to build projects faster than any other arch company.

Lower Transportation and No Crane Cost

    • Unlike precast products, cast-in-place arch culverts eliminate multiple loads of heavy expensive delivery costs. Arch forms are light enough to be placed with forklifts as opposed to expensive cranes often required for precast products.

Design Build

    • Every Hydro-Arch project is designed using the latest in finite element design software. Each design is project specific, eliminating over-designed sections which do not apply to your needs.
